  • 3.5 mm hook
  • 50g DK yarn in purple
  • A Small amount of glittery yarn or thread in purple
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

  • Slip stitch (sl st)

  • Single crochet increase (inc)

  • Double treble crochet (dtr)
  • Treble treble crochet (ttr): Yo hook 4 times, insert crochet hook in st , yo, draw lp through, [yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] 5 times
  • Double treble treble crochet (dttr): Yo hook 5 times, insert crochet hook in st , yo, draw lp through, [yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] 6 times

Instructions

Back flower

With classic yarn:

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)

Round 2: inc in each st (12)

Round 3: (inc, sc) around (18)

Round 4: (sc 2, 3 sc in next st) around (30)

Round 5: *chain 20, starting in 2nd chain from hook and working along the chain back to the centre: sc, hdc 2, dc 2, tr 3, dtr 3, ttr 6, dtr, tr. Skip next 4 sts on row 4 and slst into next st. sl st into next st.* Repeat ** another 5 times.

Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Front flower

With classic yarn:

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)

Round 2: inc in each st (12)

If including beads, add them on round 2.

Round 3: (inc, sc) around (18)

Round 4: (inc, sc 2) around (24)

Round 5: (sc 3, 3 sc in next st) around (36)

Round 6: *ch 15, starting in 2nd chain from hook and working along the chain back to the centre: sc, hdc, dc, tr 2, dtr 2, ttr 3, dttr, ttr, dtr 2. Skip next 5 sts on row 5 and slst into next st. sl st into next st.* Repeat ** another 5 times.

Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Join glittery yarn with a slst to the edge of the flower. Sc evenly around with (sc, hdc, sc) in each outer corner. Finish off.

Assembly

Using the tail from the front flower, sew the front flower onto the back flower, making sure the back petals are in between the front petals.

I strongly recommend blocking the flower here as the petals are very curly.

Using the tail from the back flower or a sewing needle and thread, attach to a hair slide, hair clip or whichever support you have for your flower.
